The historic Harambe Fort is the oldest standing structure in town. Erected in 1420 by Portuguese colonists, it is the location of Harambe’s first settlement. In 1498 this fort was replaced with the newer Harambe Fort located in the Theatre Quarter, but during its history this original fort has seen a fair share of destruction.
Today the fort’s remaining walls provide a secluded courtyard for guests to relax within while indulging in refreshments from Tamu Tamu.
